Motivation

We are a passionate team of tech enthusiasts who like embedded Linux systems in general, and portable handheld gaming devices in particular. We started this project in October 2024 so that everyone can have access to a (hopefully) performant website with an uncomplicated way to compare handheld device specifications.

The portable handheld market has been booming thanks to the availability of excellent off-the-shelf hardware components and the generously mature ecosystem of open source operating systems and gaming software. Multiple brands have been releasing loads of portable consoles: from big bulky Windows or Steam OS pc like devices, to the more exquisite products from Asian brands, or even independent or community funded projects, and all the devices in between, the choices are more varied than ever. But don't stress, we're here to help!
