Ayaaaaaaaaa (neo)
May 3rd, 2025 by the hha team
Alright, it's May 2025, and we already have a new handheld! This time is the somewhat unique Ayaneo 3: a modular horizontal handheld where the discussion about the correct position for the thumbsticks and the D-Pad doesn't even apply. Each user can reconfigure the handheld controls thanks to modules that can be swapped around. What a (detachable) twist!
The Ayaneo 3 comes in a bunch of variations, specifically, one with the modern AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX370 and another with the older AMD Ryzen 7 7840U. Even the screen comes in two flavors: OLED or IPS.
All configurations come with 12GB of RAM and Windows 11, because this is one of those big boys that can run AAA games.
Anyway, take a look at all the specs and check out how the device looks here. Also, here's a comparison with the MSI Claw 7, the Ayaneo Pocket Evo, and the obvious reference portable pc gaming device: the Steam Deck OLED.
Happy portable pc gaming!

Is this the 'Droid you're looking for?
April 25th, 2025 by the hha team
It finally happened, Anbernic decided to uncork 2025 with The RG-557: the follow-up device for the RG-556 from last year.
It's an AMOLED 5-inch screen horizontal 16:9 device running Android 14 and with an updated MediaTek Dimensity 8300 SoC.
See here how it compares to the RG-556 and these also great competitors: the Odin 2 Portal and the Retroid Pocket 5.

That Classic Retro
April 19th, 2025 by the hha team
There's a certain charm to the original white GameBoy from Nintendo that is present in handheld devices to this day. The Retroid Pocket Classic is a tribute to that nostalgia, with its classic retro design, with even a choice of a 6 or 4-button layout to top its excellent set of features, excelling on an AMOLED screen, modern SoC, and Android 14 based OS.
Retroid has been at it lately with new devices, and the Pocket Classic is a great addition to their lineup; in fact, it's the second addition to their vertical handheld lineup. A lineup preceded by the now 5-year-old Retroid Pocket (see how both devices compare here).
The Pocket Classic has a great price point considering its premium features and the reviews available point to a solid emulation performance. Checkout this comparison with the most compelling vertical handheld alternatives to the Retroid Pocket Classic.
Will the Easter Gaming Bunny bring us more devices this month? If he does (or maybe it's a she? Pronouns are hard!) we'll be here to tell you about them :)

Flippin Pockets
April 15th, 2025 by the hha team
Have you ever wanted a wider Gameboy SP with Android? Do you love the Retroid Pocket 5, but wish it was a clamshell? Then the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 is for you!
It's a much improved version of the previous Pocket Flip, which you can compare with here. It has a bigger screen, a much more powerful chipset, and comes with Android 13. It comes in two versions, one with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and another with a confusingly equally powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1100.
Performance will vary depending on the game, so make your choice wisely... Although performance for most games below PS2 should be equivalent between these two Pocket Flip 2 models.
Regardless of the variant you choose, the Pocket Flip 2 is a great device for gaming on the go. You guessed it, we're fans of Retroid, too!
Happy gaming!
